The emerging complexity of climate adaptation governance in a globalizing world

The International Scientific Workshop “The emerging complexity of climate adaptation governance in a globalizing world”, organized by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is going on this week in Stockholm. The aim of this event is to explore governance of climate adaptation beyond the national level. Participants will discuss new forms of adaptation governance, its consequences for adaptation action on the ground and the adequacy of existing institutions.

Keynote speakers include Diana Liverman (Regents Professor of Geography and Development, University of Arizona, and co-Director of the Institute of the Environment at the University of Arizona, USA), Tiffany Morrison (Research leader, Social Science in the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies at James Cook University) and Frank Biermann (Research professor of Global Sustainability Governance with the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University, the Netherlands).
